Workshop description: Unlock the potential of your leftover fabric scraps, ribbons, threads, and yarns by transforming them into stunning, textured, re-imagined, eco-friendly fabric.  Whether making a unique placemat, a vibrant scarf, or another project, Lori will teach you to craft your own fabric with this technique. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll make your own pinnable project/weaving board which you can reuse for future crafting endeavors.  You’ll use it to pin your strips and weave your own fabric.
Materials Fee: There is no materials fee.
Student supply list: Students are to bring foam core board, flannel to cover, duct tape to secure (recommend 20”x18” board and 24”x22” flannel), water soluble stabilizer (NOT TEAR-AWAY), beach towel for blotting, and 150 straight pins. 
Weaving items to bring include: large-eye, blunt-edge, darning needle for weaving skinny ribbons or yarns, weaving shuttle or elastic threader (Amazon) or loop turner, elastic band threader (Wal-Mart, Amazon) for weaving fabric strips, sewing machine with straight stitch, an extension cord, new machine needle (size 80 sharp), sewing machine thread (matching, contrasting, variegated), yarn, lace, thin ribbon and/or fiber to weave in, fabric scissors, rotary cutter and mat, and fabric strips for weaving, ¼” to ½” wide by size of board for weaving.
Skill level: All experience levels welcome.
