Workshop description: Learn how to sculpt charming, life-like animals entirely from wool in this immersive needle felting workshop. Perfect for both beginners and returning felters, this class focuses on building solid 3D forms without the use of wire armatures, using only wool, a felting needle, and a little creative patience. Students will learn a variety of shape-building techniques which will enable them to create a small animal of their choice as they are guided through the process of creating a realistic body structure, developing facial features, and refining surface texture. Final touches may include shingling wool to mimic fur, adding whiskers, and refining expressions to bring your creature to life.
Materials fee: $25.00 covers a kit that includes a needle, foam, wool, and instruction in a travel box that allows them to continue felting after the workshop.
Student supply list: Students have the option of bringing their own reference image to use.
Skill level: Beginners through intermediate needle felters are welcome.
