Workshop description: Students will have the opportunity to learn how to spin several types of hemp fibers, both from the fold and end of the fiber.  Both blending and plying hemp with wool and cotton will give texture and strength to the yarn.  There will be a demonstration and handouts showing how easy it is to solar dye hemp fiber.  Students will spin both very fine- and medium-weight yarns.  Samples of finished yarns and woven projects will be on display for discussion about working with your hemp handspun yarns.
Materials fee: $10.00 (cash) covers the fiber for the class.
