Workshop description: Have you been wondering if there is more than wool to spin? Or perhaps you want a vegan-friendly yarn but are not sure which fibers to choose or how to spin them. In this class we will spin six different plant-based fibers, among them bamboo, Ingeo corn, and tow flax. We will cover how best to spin each fiber and appropriate uses for each one.
Materials fee: $20.00 includes all fibers for the class. Student supply list: Students are to bring a spinning wheel in good working order, at least 3 bobbins, a lazy kate, note taking items, labels, skein ties, and a niddy noddy. Students may bring any other items they need for spinning.
Skill level: Students should be able to spin a continuous thread.
